Activation hard forks in the test-network of Istanbul will be the final step before updating the main blockchain. Wei Tang from team Parity said that the end of the upgrades they need time to September 6. The delay was not only due to the late adoption of EIPs, and because of the large-scale processing of source code.
It is reported that the number of the block chain, which will launch the upgrade in the test mode, had to be marked on 23 August, but there was an unpleasant delay. Because of this, under the threat arose to refresh the main blockchain, the Ethereum. It was supposed to happen in October this year, and now hardwork moved to November. The exact date will depend on the responsiveness of the developers of Parity, which has to cope with the difficulties.
At the moment the client Parity is used about 21% gcd Ethereum, and more popular client Geth uses 76%. In Geth with the already implemented all the planned updates.
Previously, developers had approved all parts of impending hard forks Istanbul. According to the plan, it needs to be activated in 2 stages, the first of which includes six updates EIPs. This stage is delayed by about a month.
