The introduction of the blockchain helps many companies to simplify and accelerate the work and reduce costs. But not in these cases.
Today there are more than 2,500 different cryptocurrencies, and every day it becomes more difficult to find an industry which has not reached the blockchain.
Indeed, in recent years we have seen attempts an ambitious (perhaps too much) entrepreneurs to integrate the blockchain in everything — from table games and cheap transformation of chemical elements in gold to porn sites and “purchase” celebrities in the game CryptoCelebrities.
The portal The Next Web talked by experts in the blockchain, gathered at the TNW conference in Amsterdam, and asked them to recall the most ridiculous cases of application of technology of the distributed registry. Here are the most striking examples.
“The funniest incident of bloccano happened to Long Island Ice Tea. The company produces and sells soft drinks. Suddenly she decided to change the name to Long Blockchain. After all this during the day, the value of its shares jumped by 289%.
They didn’t even try to implement the technology — just said that they were interested in her and consider possible ways of its application. But this case perfectly demonstrates that engulfed the world, the fever associated with bloccano and cryptocurrencies: the simple addition of the word “blockchain” in the title could lead to the tripling of the value of shares of the company”

Your credit history
“One Bank — I will not say what decided to put all the public data in the blockchain to use them from different application. In essence, this means that the entire banking history will be in the blockchain and will be open for the public. In my opinion, this is a pretty outrageous case.”

A token that helps to deal with feelings
“The funniest experience that comes to my mind, is a token FUCK. Essentially the project is a community that supports members in dealing with problems in their personal lives (whatever they were). The basic idea is that people today don’t notice other people’s troubles. To show friends that you care about them and empathize with them, you send them a token FUCK, offering “a piece of cake and no need to worry” — in other words, do not pay attention to the problem. A friend’s difficulties in family life? Give him a couple FUCK’ov and watch as he smiles widely. Every minute thousands of such tokens pass from hand to hand. That’s the whole project.”
Masha Bitrot, head of communications at KICKICO
“There are many platforms that can help you find the perfect job. But the problem is that they are not free — their services are paid cryptocurrency. The idea is that you need to pay to view jobs, profiles, job seekers or post your resume”.

The decentralised nature
“One company is developing technology that combines cryptocurrency wallet in the growing tree. As a result, the tree will be connected to the blockchain. With built-in sensors it can detect pedestrians and charge them a fee for consumed their oxygen.
This is one of the craziest ideas I’ve ever heard, but the most important thing is that its quite possible to implement. In a way, I’m impressed with this concept.”
